INGREDIENTS

  • 100g round rice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 50g of panela or the sweetener you prefer (adjust quantity according to which you use)
  • 3 slices of lemon and / or orange peel
  • 1 torrijas bread loaf
  • 3-4 eggs
  • Oil for frying

PREPARATION

  1. In a pot we put 1L of milk, cinnamon stick and powder, lemon and / or orange peel, panela and rice, Bring to a boil and stir very often to prevent cream from forming in the milk. Approximately during 20 minutes, until we see that the rice is ready.
  2. Once our rice pudding is ready, We put it in the blender and beat until creamy. We reserve the amount we want to later use as a sauce, for example, we can reserve half or a little less.
  3. To the other part we will add part of the half liter of soy drink or remaining milk as we see fit so that the bread can absorb the liquid well, if the rice pudding was very creamy.
  4. In a container we put this mixture (it is important that it is warm so if necessary you can heat it in a saucepan or in the microwave) and we spread the slices of bread in the container so that they absorb the liquid until we see that they are soft.
  5. While, We beat the eggs in a deep dish and we heat the oil in the pan.
  6. Once our slices of French toast bread are well hydrated, we pass them through the egg, round and round, and back to the pan. and back too, until they take a golden color.
  7. We remove to a plate with absorbent paper to eliminate part of the oil and serve together with the cream of rice pudding that we had previously reserved.
