Caramelized onion jam

This caramelized onion jam is prepared in a pas pis and more nutritious than any we can buy in a supermarket.


Caramelized onion jam INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large onion cut into julienne
  • 1 Trickle of AOVE (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
  • 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 Cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  1. In a pan put a drop of AOVE to heat to medium-high.
  2. When hot we put the onion and went down to medium heat and put a lid on the pan to be poche and leave until we see the onion is blandita.
  3. At that time we add sugar and salt, stir to mix well with the whole onion and let a couple of minutes.
  4. Add water and chia and left for 3-4 minutes fire.
  5. Remove and store in a jar. Let cool and store it in the fridge.
